Angelina Fusco joins the panel looking at how better to protect the physical safety and mental health of frontline journalists before, during and after assignments. Angelina is Chair of Dart Centre Europe and an Ochberg Fellow. She was a journalist in the newsroom of the daily newspaper the Irish News and then for more than 30 years in BBC Northern Ireland - half that time as Editor of the award-winning BBC Newsline television news programme. Her experience witnessing, reporting on and then leading teams covering the violence in NI across radio and television has resulted in a passion and commitment to spread awareness of the science and psychology of trauma; ethical treatment of victims/survivors and the impact of trauma coverage on media professionals. She has delivered Dart training workshops, in person and virtually, for journalists in Ukraine, Armenia, Azerbaijan and the UK. Angelina is a visiting professional to Bournemouth University.
